Mehrdad Pahlevanzadeh, the Head of Iran’s Chess Federation broke the news on Sunday. The news came to media attention as a delay in paying for the Women’s World Championship held in Teheran made the Federation Internationale des Echecs (FIDE) or the World Chess Federation to suspend Iran’s membership in the international institution; it was going to cost Iranians the loss of next international tournament.
According to the Iranian official, a total of 12 chess masters, 5 women and seven men, will represent the Islamic Republic of Iran in the tournament. The news was also attested by Asghar Rahimi, the acting manager of the Iranian delegation of sportspeople to Turkmenistan.
Sara-sadat Khadem-al-Shari’eh, Atousa Pourkashian, Mitra Hejazipour, Mobina Alinasab, and Vesal Hamedinia are the women members of the Iranian squad. The men squad is comprised of Ehsan Ghaemmaghami, Parham Maghsoudlou, Pouya Ideni, Pourya Darini, Masoud Mosaddeghpour, Khalil Mousavi, and Amir-Reza Pourramezanali.
